Fraser Valley Special Area Hunting License Regulations

A Fraser Valley Special Area Hunting Licence is required to hunt in the following areas:

  • Provincial Management Unit 2-4
  • Parts of Management Unit 2-8 within Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Mission, and Coquitlam 

To be eligible for a hunting license in British Columbia, you must:

  • Be at least 10 years old
  • Have a valid Fish and Wildlife ID (FWID)
  • Not be prohibited or suspended from holding a license under the Wildlife Act 

You can purchase a Special Area license electronically through your Fish and Wildlife profile. You don’t need to print the license, but you must carry photo ID if you are 16 or older. 

Other hunting regulations include: 

  • Hunters must have the required permits and licenses, which may include training, qualifications, and insurance. 
  • Hunters must have the landowner’s permission to hunt on private land. 
  • Hunters who break the law or don’t behave appropriately may have their passes canceled. 
  • They may not be issued another pass for one to two years.
